Kathy Derrick, DNP, BC-ADM

Kathy Derrick, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, BC-ADM, has been a family nurse practitioner since 2014. She is interested in increasing access to care, improving health literacy, and enhancing diabetes management.Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She then went on to complete her Master's of Nursing at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, focusing on Family Nurse Practitioner. Kathy also completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, KY. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has a certification in Advanced Diabetes Management. Kathy is a member of several professional medical associations. These include the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nursing Association, the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, the American Diabetes Association, and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties. Outside of work, Kathy loves to spend time with her husband, four children, and two grandchildren. She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and running. Kathy also loves cooking and trying new places to eat. She believes in the importance of community and likes to take part in local events and work with local partners to improve individual well-being.
